Jayson Werth back to the Phillies?

Washington, DC – Two weeks ago The Disorderly Walker broke the story that the Washington Nationals made a mistake when signing Jayson Werth to a $126 million dollar deal (they meant to offer Werth $12.6 million but forgot the decimal point).

It now seems as if Werth realizes he also made a mistake leaving the Phillies for the Nationals and wants to go back.  According to an unnamed Phillies equipment manager Werth walked into the Phillies locker room before batting practice acting like he was still on the team.  The Phillies and Nationals start a three game series in Washington tonight.

The equipment manager said “Werth just walked into our locker room like he has been with the team all year, saying how great a series we had down in Atlanta, and how he loves that all of our fans take over Nationals Park when we play here.”

Things got even more strange when the unnamed source said Werth went up to a locker that had a piece of tape stuck above it with his name on it.  Hanging in the locker was a Phillies uniform where it was obvious someone had hand-written the name “Werth” on the back.  “It seems as if Jayson somehow got into our equipment locker where we keep extra uniforms, stole one and wrote his name on the back.”

Reports also state that Werth went into manager Charlie Manual’s office asking “hey skipper, am I hitting 3rd or 5th tonight?”.  Manual was heard telling Jayson that he is going to give him the night off since he is only hitting .200 with 1 RBI this season.
